New Diversity Awareness Program: How Equality is Promoted in the Workplace

Diversity and equality are fundamental values for a modern, inclusive work environment. In this context, with decision 9249/2025-06-24, the implementation details of the Employee Awareness Program on Diversity and Anti-Discrimination in the private sector were regulated. The program is part of the actions of the General Secretariat for Gender Equality and Human Rights and is implemented with the support of the Recovery and Resilience Fund.

What does the program entail?

The program’s objective is to inform and educate private sector employees on issues related to diversity, equality, and the prevention of discrimination in the workplace.

✔ The training is conducted remotely through specially designed 3-hour e-learning material, with thematic units such as:

Gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation.

✔ After successful completion of the program and the evaluation process, participants receive a certificate of attendance.

✔ The first 80,000 certified participants are entitled to a special purpose compensation of €100, which is non-seizable, tax-exempt, and non-offsettable against debts to the State, municipalities, insurance funds, or banks.

How to participate?

Applications are submitted through the digital training platform of the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, which is accessible via gov.gr. Interested employees must have:

An active Tax Identification Number (TIN), an active Social Security Number (SSN), registration in the ERGANI system as employees, an IBAN bank account in their name

Authentication is performed via TaxisNet for security and data verification.

How is personal data protected?

The program provides for special measures for the secure processing and protection of personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Only authorized personnel have access to the digital platform, and interoperability with state systems (e.g., ERGANI, AADE, gov.gr) is utilized to facilitate and automate the process, without further burdening employees.

Why is it important?

Diversity awareness is not merely a theoretical obligation, but an essential step towards promoting equal opportunities and fostering a discrimination-free work environment. The new program enables employees to be informed, acquire knowledge, and actively contribute to creating more inclusive workplaces.
